The Houthi forces pledged revenge following US air strikes in Yemen which resulted in 31 fatalities.

 

The United States launched airstrikes against Yemen on Saturday leading to the deaths of 31 individuals and injuries of 101 people based on information from the Houthi health ministry. NBC News interviewed a spokesperson from the rebel group who declared their plan for “further escalation.”

Donald Trump confirmed that he had directed airstrikes against Yemen territories held by the Houthi faction as he threatened destructive force until these attacks stopped against crucial shipping lanes.

The Iran-backed Houthi militia launched attacks on maritime vessels through missiles and drones and other weapons systems because of the Gaza conflict.

During Saturday night the group revealed detonations occurred simultaneously in Sanaa city and Saada region which stands as a Houthi base tightly bordering Saudi Arabia.

Yemeni television broadcast coverage that displayed heavy destruction across the country as seen through The Associated Press. Large machinery operated by rescue workers cleared debris even as they looked for survivors while medical aid vehicles reached the crash zone.

The Houthi movement threatens counterattacks because U.S. military operations in Yemen resulted in fatalities of at least 31 people.

The photos showed how intense black smoke billowed above Sanaa's airport complex where a military building stands. The assault also hit targets in Hodeida and Marib and Bayda.

The U.S. carried out its attack against Yemen only several days after the Houthis threatened naval strikes against Israeli vessels near Yemen's border in response to Israel's blockade of humanitarian aid to Gaza. The threat directive against Israel returned empty of any reported attacks.

Nasr el-Din Amer confirmed in an interview with NBC News that American airstrikes in Yemen had primarily resulted in deaths of female civilians alongside children according to his information. NBC News has conducted no independent verification of this statement.

The Houthi group promised to continue their actions because the Gaza blockade needed to be eliminated.

He declared that the United States would match rising hostility with increased levels of intensity. The response we deliver will not face any delays.

Trump compelled Iran to withdraw their support for the Houthis through a warning declaring Tehran responsible for every rebel action. Financial support together with training sessions and military equipment comes from Iran to support the Houthis.

Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Hossein Salami informed state media that his forces would use destructive countermeasures against any threats directed at Iran. The commander made it clear that Iran does not influence Houthis' strategic choices even though Iran separates their operations from each other.

Hossein Salami stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran steers clear from commanding national or operational decisions within resistance movements according to his media interview.

A total of $1 trillion worth of goods moves through the Red Sea annually since it functions as a vital global trade passage.

The Houthi forces launched drone and missile strikes on more than 100 commercial ships starting from the end of 2023 that led to the destruction of two vessels and the deaths of four seamen. The military and civilian ships endured such attacks from the Houthis until the ceasefire agreement took effect in January this year.

The attacks compelled several shipping firms to halt their maritime activities in the assigned area during last year.

In early March Secretary of State Marco Rubio reinstated the status of Houthis as foreign terrorist organization. Previous Joe Biden administration officials withdrew this category because they believed it would make it harder to deliver humanitarian aid to Yemen where a severe humanitarian disaster is ongoing.
